Mariano felt let down by a casting agency he had done a shoot with and I offered to help him out with pictures he could actually use. He was happy to explore the full range of headshots and body shots that I could take and we made full use of both black and white backdrops. We both gasped in delight at the shots with the black backdrops. I think men especially Italian men with dark features have their bodies easily etched out with the play of light and shadow. It's definitely a lot easier seeing the picture in the frame. With the white backdrop reading the fall of light is not so easy and composing becomes more of a challenge. We had great fun and Mariano was definitely pleased with the results.
