I love event work primarily because it is about people: people interacting. Often it is brand focused so it is about people interacting in the context of a brand stand. Creating a story or narrative around the brand is important in creating an emotional association and often it is the enthusiasm, the laughter and positive energy that a company wants to have associated with its brand. Fun and laughter was in no short supply on the IBM stand and I had loads of fun getting to know the IBM staff and learning about IBM's bluemix software. The event was the Cloud Forum housed in Kensington's Olympia building. This century old glass and steel structure allows in plenty of light and was a surprsing challenge because of the harsh highlights that would intrude, bouncing off white perspex walls or creating dark shadow areas. The great compliment I received afterwards made me smile enormously and I quote: "Vincent was amazing! He’s already sent me a dropbox link to all the additional stand shots he took. Our IBM client loved Vincent, his shots looked great onsite and his shots of the stand were brilliant to.Thank you for having such an amazing bunch of guys and girls with a variety of skills, such as photography."
