Vault Festival: Boireannach Theatre

Boireannach is a Scottish word that means strong woman. Boireannach Theatre serves to project this image of strong woman through their work in promoting theatre acted and written by woman. In exploring this subterranean world of human emotion experienced through the prism of womanhood it was fitting to have these 3 plays performed in the underworld of the Vault theatre spaces. These vaults hidden under Waterloo station offer spaces that add to the sense of primordial human emotion through their ancient brickwork and dank interiors. It was a priviledge being able to photograph all three plays each offering unique insights and projecting completely different visual worlds that I've hopefully captured. A wonderful, at times thrilling experience.
