King Jules and his Golden Crown

Jules came around for a photoshoot. It was going to be a standard headshot session and when he arrived he seemed a little out of sorts and felt he wanted to focus on something creative. His hayfever allergy was getting the better of him and his eyes were bloodshot. I had borrowed a djellabah from a friend of mine for another shoot and was secretly hoping to experiment with it. What a surprise when Jules produced a golden crown. The two items definitely complimented each other and gave us room to manoeuvre through a Game of Thrones/Lord of the Rings inspired shoot. I love the colour of the djellabah and this adds to the moodiness of the implied narrative of the photo sequence: a reluctant king claimimg his crown. The cheeky emoji t-shirt was a fun after thought!
